There are two John’s that show up as Joseph and Lucy Barnett’s children. There is a John who married a Martha or Patsy (maiden name unknown) that Lorene B. Fisher thinks were the parents of Randall. This John is not the same one that appears in the Foster Barnett Bible as a son of Joseph.

Janice Craft does not agree with this hypothesis. She says that this particular John (the John in this record) moved to Giles County, Tennessee. This John does appear in the Forster Barnett Bible as the son of Joseph and Lucy Wade Barnett.2

The information on the John of this record is from the descendants of William and Ann Rolfe Barnett.8

*It appears that there was a mistake in the number of male and female childern age 16-26. I believe it should read 2 male 16-26 which would be Thomas and Randall and 1 female 16-26 as Lucy is the only female of that age range.

**I believe the second male is Randall Barnett who would have been about 24 years old in 1810. John and Nancy were married January 29,1789 so this would not be a son of this marriage. I believe that Randall was in son of Nancy born out of wedlock before she was married to John.

In May of 2017, I discovered on the LDS Ancestry web site that JOSEPH BARNETT and LUCY WADE had a son JOHN BARNETT who married NANCY BARNETT. JOHN nad NANCY BARNETT had a son JAMES RANDOLPH BARNETT born 1783 and died 1851 and was maried to MARTHA PHOEBE BARNETT born 1790 and died 1862.
