Notes for Oscar Pinkney (Doc) WHITAKER
After leaving Bearwollow Mountain in about 1917 Oacar and his family live in several homes north of Hendersonville. The first was near the community of Hill Girt. After that they live in a log home near where Mountain Home Independent Baptist Church stands today. They also live for a short time at the Noles house on Stony Mountain Road. Oscar also took care of the Henderson County Home for a short time but the dates are not certain. In 192217 he purchase 13.5 acres from the Mountain Home Company on what is now Mountain Road in the community of Mountain Home.
