OBITUARY FOR ANNIE WOFFORD BECKNELL
Annie Wofford Becknell, 77, of 204 Bird Mountain Road, Landrum, SC, died July 24, 1996 at her home. A native of Spartanburg county, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Turner Wofford. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church were she taught Sunday School for 58 years and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church Joy Club. She was employed 30 years at Landrum Mills and was Secretary of the Landrum Mills Retirement Club.

She was preceded in death by her sone Cecil Beckness and her brother Floyd Wofford.

Surviving are: a daughter Patricia Lorenz of Spartanburg; two brothers G.C. Woffard, Jr. and Paul Wofford both of Landrum; five sisters, Pearl Calvert of Campobello, Beulah Howard of Augusta, GA; Margaret Brown of Shelby, NC, Arnetta Herrington of Durham, NC, and Carrie Ponder of Martinez, GA; two grandchildren, Ashley Becknell Brown and Hunter Becknell; and one great-grandchild, Reecca Allen Brown.

Funeral services willbe held today, Saturday, July 27, 1996 at 11:00 AM at Petty Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Eddie Ramsey, David Hayes and Churck Mullinax. Burial willbe in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Dr. John D. Turner, Inman, SC; C.L. Brown of Shelby, NC; Dr. Milton Brown of Atlanta, GA; James W. (Woody) Cook, III of Augusta, GA; Kenneth C. Gantt of Duncan, SC; Randall Barrs of Augusta, GA.
