OBITUARY FOR CHARLOTTE CORN TURNER
Hendersonville, NC -- Mrs. Charlotte C. Turner, 88, died Friday in a local nursing home after a lengthly illness.

Lifelong resident of Henderson Countyu, daughter of the late George W. and Mary Elizabeth Odom Corn, she was the widow of W.J. Turner who founded the Star Dray Co.

Surviving a forster daughter, Mrs. L. T. Patterson of Hendersonville, a nephew reared in her home, Gworge W. Turner of Miami, FL.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Shepherd Funeral Home by Dr. Gilbert Stenholm and Rev. M.M. Goss. Burial willbe in the Oakdale Cemetery (Block D), Hendersonville, NC.

Will and Charlotte lived on North Main Street in Hendersonville, NC He was a very successful business man, contractor and owned the Strr Dray Company.

My Dad Ervin Barnett was the son of Anna Turner Barnett the sister of William. Anna died of complication of the birth of Ervin and He was raised by Charlotte and William and an Aunt Jane Turner Odam wife of William M. Odam.

OBITUARY FOR WILLIAM J. TURNER
HENDERSONVELLE, N.C.--W.J. Turner, well-known HendersonW]e contractor and owner of the Star Dray Company died suddenly at noon today while in an automobile looldng over road work which he and P.F. Patton of this city have under contract in the vicinity of Marietta, S.C. With him at the time was Mrs. Moore, a registered nurse who has been in attendance on him for a year, since he recovered from his latest and most critical illness that confined him to his home for many months.

Mrs. Turner, accompanied by Mr. & Mrs. H.D. Morris, went to Greenville shortly after receipt of the news of Ws death.

Mr. Turner was 47 years old. He came here from Landnim, S.C. and had made this his home for the past 23 years. he married Charlotte Corn, daughter of A&. & Ws. George Corn of this city. Since the death of Mrs. Corn, Mr. Corn had been a member of the household.

Mi. Turner had been in the contracting and moving business continuously since he came here. He had the contract for excavation work on practically (all the) big buildings in Hendersonville, and the grading on all the street work done under Hendersonvillds big street paving program. I-Es biggest road contracts in the county were the Mlls River and Ksnuga road work.
He was a member of the Grove Street Gospel Church.

Death came as the result of a heart attack. He succumbed suddenly to the malady, falling over in his car, and never spealdng.
