OBITUARY FOR REVEREND AUTHUR BOYD TURNER
The Rev. Arthur Boyd Turner, 76, of Greenville, husband of Sara Lee Hudson
Turner, diedibursday, October 10, 199 1, in Ormond Beach, Fla. .

A native of Landnun, he was a son of the late Ben and Alice Carruth Turner. He was a graduate of North Greenville Junior college, Furman University and Southwestern Seminary. He began his ministry in small rural churches while still in college. After completing studies at Southwestern, he entered the U.S. Navy as a Chaplain during World War R and served on the U.S.S. Salt Lake City. Following his tour of duty with the military, he served as pastor of Welcome Baptist Church for two years and at Brandon Baptist Church for five years. The Rev. Mr. Turner retired in 1975 after 25 years as pastor of San Souci Baptist Church in Greenville.

Following his retirement he served as., interim pastor of several Greenville area churches and his home church, Landrum First Baptist Church. He was a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church in Greenville.

The Rev. Mr. Turner was a former trustee of North Gremville College, Funnan University and Southwestern Tbeological Seminary.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, John Allen Turner. Sapphire, N. C., the Rev. Thomas Boyd Turner of Nashville, Tenn., and Manley Hudson Turner of Greenville; a sister, Helen Turner Sn-dth of Columbus; two brothers, Harold Turner of Landrum and James Turner of Monroe, N.C.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at Edwards Road Baptist Church, Greenville. Burial was in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
