OBITUARY FOR GROVER CLEVELAND “CLEVE” WOFFORD, SR
LANDRUM--G.C. Wofford, Sr., 72, of Route 2 died Friday at NUry Black
Hospital (in Spartanburg, S.C.) after a long illness.

A member of Fairview Baptist Church, he was a member of the Woodmen of the World and a retired farmer and peach grower.

Surviving are his wife Mrs. Mary Turner Wofford; six daughters, Mrs. Pearl Calvert of Rutherfordton, N.C., Mrs. Beulah Howard, Mrs. Arnetta Herfington, Mrs. Carrie Cook all of Augusta, Ga., Mrs. Annie D. Becknell of Landrum; Mrs. Margaret Brown of Shelby, N.C.; three sons, Floyd of Mt. Pleasant, G.C., Jr., of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Paul of the U. S. Army.

Funeral services will be conducted today at 3 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church by the Revs. Hollis Lovelace, Boyd Turner, and W. Broadus Belue. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Homer and Malcolm Williams, Ted Rudisall, Broadus Barton, Winfred Ravan, Sam Carnith, Sr., Holland Walker, and Harold Turner.
